Come and See Us!
A Small School with a Big Heart
Dunton Green is a one-form-entry primary school, with up to 30 children joining us in Reception each year.
Being a smaller school means that we can really get to know our children and families. We pride ourselves on creating a friendly and inclusive community where children feel that they belong and where families are an important part of school life.
Our values of Respect, Resilience, Perseverance, Teamwork, Achievement and Kindness run through everything we do.
We want children to leave Dunton Green not only having achieved academically, but having developed confidence, curiosity, friendships and memories that will stay with them long after primary school.
Learning Beyond the Classroom
One of the things that makes Dunton Green special is the importance we place on giving children a wide range of experiences.
Our curriculum includes opportunities for outdoor learning, educational visits, visitors to school, sport, music and enrichment alongside high-quality classroom teaching.
We want our children to discover the things they love, experience new opportunities and develop the confidence to take on challenges.
By the time children leave us for secondary school, our ambition is that they are academically well-prepared, have discovered sports and activities they enjoy, have experienced music and the arts, understand and respect others, and have developed a genuine love of learning.
Nurture, Wellbeing and Belonging
Children learn best when they feel safe, happy and valued.
Pastoral care is an important part of life at Dunton Green. Our staff work hard to build strong relationships with children and families and to make sure children know that there is always an adult who knows them, listens to them and will support them.
We recognise that every child is different. Our inclusive approach means that we work closely with families to understand children's individual strengths and needs and help them to flourish.
What to Expect When You Visit
We know that choosing a school is a significant decision.
A website can tell you about our curriculum, results and policies, but it cannot quite capture the atmosphere of a school. That's why we think visiting is so important.
During your visit, you'll be able to walk around the school while it is in action, see children learning, meet members of our team and ask as many questions as you would like.
Visits usually last around 30–45 minutes, although we are very happy to spend longer with you if there is more that you would like to discuss.
Younger brothers and sisters are very welcome to come along too.
There is absolutely no obligation to apply after your visit. We simply want you to have the opportunity to see Dunton Green for yourself and decide whether it feels like the right school for your child and your family.
Looking for a Reception Place?
We welcome up to 30 children into Reception each September.
If your child is due to start school, we would particularly encourage you to visit during a normal school day. You'll be able to see what learning looks like, meet our team and find out how we help children make the important transition into primary school.
Choosing your child's first school is a big milestone, and we want you to feel completely comfortable asking us anything.
Moving School or New to the Area?
Children join Dunton Green throughout the school year for all sorts of reasons.
If you're moving into Dunton Green or Sevenoaks, or you're considering whether another school might better meet your child's needs, you're equally welcome to arrange a visit.
We can talk to you about availability in the year group you need, show you around and explain how we support children joining us part-way through their primary education.
