Accessibility Statement

This accessibility statement applies to the website of Dunton Green Primary School (www.dunton-green.kent.sch.uk).

This website is run by Dunton Green. We want as many people as possible to be able to use this website. For example, that means you should be able to:

  • Zoom in up to 300% without the text spilling off the screen.
  • Navigate most of the website using just a keyboard.
  • Navigate most of the website using speech recognition software.
  • Listen to most of the website using a screen reader.

We have also made the website text as simple as possible to understand.

Compliance Status

This website is partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.2 AA standard, due to the exemptions and non-compliances listed below.

As a school, we have a partial exemption under the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018. This means we are not required to fix all historical content on our website if it does not impact essential administrative tasks.

Non-Accessible Content

The content listed below is non-accessible for the following reasons:

Non-compliance with the accessibility regulations

  • Some of our older PDF documents do not meet accessibility standards (e.g., they may lack text alternatives or clear headings).
  • Some images on our website do not have text alternatives (alt text) for screen readers.

Content that is not within the scope of the accessibility regulations

  • Older PDFs: Many of our older PDFs and Word documents (published before 23 September 2018) do not meet accessibility standards. The regulations do not require us to fix these if they are not essential to providing our services.
  • Video content: Some of our older videos or live video streams may not feature captions or audio descriptions.

Essential Administrative Content

We ensure that all essential administrative content—such as online forms for admissions, school meals, permission slips, or school policies—is fully accessible. If an administrative document is found to have an issue, we will correct it as a priority.

Feedback and Contact Information

If you need information on this website in a different format, such as an accessible PDF, large print, easy read, audio recording, or Braille, please contact the school office.

We will consider your request and get back to you within 5 days.

Reporting Accessibility Problems with this Website

We are always looking to improve the accessibility of this website. If you find any problems not listed on this page or think we are not meeting accessibility requirements, please contact Mrs Daniels via the contact details listed above.

Enforcement Procedure

The Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) is responsible for enforcing the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018 (the ‘accessibility regulations’).

If you are not happy with how we respond to your complaint, contact the Equality Advisory and Support Service (EASS).
