Team DG

The PTA (known as Team DG) has been an integral part of the school community for many years. In its time the PTA has raised many thousands of pounds, which have been spent on improving equipment and resources to enhance our children’s education. But it’s much more than just fundraising. The PTA exists to provide closer links between home and school, and is an excellent way to bring staff, parents and friends together socially in support of the school and working towards a common goal.

The PTA meet on a regular basis usually once per half term, with smaller working groups meeting as necessary to organise our bigger events. Our regular events include the Christmas and Summer Fairs, Quiz Nights and cake sales, but there are many other activities throughout the year which previously have included fashion shows and balloon races.

All parents and members of the school community can get involved if they want to, even if they only have a small amount of time available, and all parents are automatically members of the PTA when they join the school.

There are lots of ways to help and support your child through the PTA, from volunteering to be a Committee Member or Class Representative, attending the meetings, offering to help with any of our events, and of course, attending the events and making any donations of time, money, items for sale, donations for raffles or offers of services and skills etc.

We are always very grateful for any help that is offered and would like to thank you for your very valuable support which enriches your child’s learning experience and makes their time in school so enjoyable.

To get involved please speak to one of the Team DG Committee.

Chair of the PTA - Jamie Castle

Vice Chairperson - Mary Harding

Treasurer - Jasmine Walker

Secretary - Katherine Orton

If you want to get in touch with the PTA and don’t know who to speak to please email teamdgschool@gmail.com and we will get back to you.

Additional ways to help Team DG raise funds

There are some additional ways in which you can raise money for Dunton Green Primary School that don’t cost you a penny more than you would spend anyway! Here are some of the ways you can raise money for Team DG through your everyday spending.

EasyFundraising.org

Sign up for an Easy Fundraising account (link below) and support the Dunton Green Primary School PTA cause and every time you do shopping online the school could potentially earn money without costing you a penny more.

It works with over 7000 online stores including Sainsbury’s, Tesco’s, Asda, John Lewis, Boots, all the insurance comparison sites, broadband providers, travel companies, fashion companies and lots, lots more.

The site has an extension plug in for all the major browsers that can automatically let you know if the website you’re shopping on will contribute to the cause. There are also apps for Android and iPhone which enables you to raise money for Team DG.

For example, if you use easyfundraising to search for car insurance through MoneySupermarket.com and end up buying a policy through them, they will donate £18.50 to the PTA. Go Compare, Confused and Compare The Market all pay similar amounts. It costs you nothing and comes out of companies profit margins instead! Some of the shops even have voucher codes for free delivery or extra money off!

Once a quarter easyfundraising will deposit a payment from all the brand donations into the Team DG bank account. Happy days!

We have a clothes and shoes recycling bank near the bike stands near the main entrance. The more clothes you donate the more money the school makes. In 2023 we made £88 from your generous donations.

We get paid according to how quickly the recycling bin fills up, so if your little ones have outgrown any of their clothes feel free to wash them and drop them in the Recycle with Michael clothes bank.
