Dunton Green Primary School are committed to broadening the children’s horizons through wide ranging enrichment opportunities both inside and outside of the curriculum.  These include Educational Visits, Visitors, Special Days, Themed Weeks and a wide range of Extra-curricular clubs.

Classes make visits to places of interest throughout the school year designed to take the children’s learning beyond the classroom and into other settings and contexts.  Recent trips have included Bough Beech Wildlife Reserve, Beaver Waterworld, Pizza Express, Wagamama, The Stag Theatre, Herstmonceux Observatory, Ightham Mote,Wimbledon, The House of Lords and many more.

We frequently invite visitors into our school to share their expertise with the children:  authors, theatre groups, speakers, musicians, local wildlife experts, police officers, fire officers are amongst a range of people that we welcome to speak to and work with the children.

We are committed to developing our children’s social awareness so that they can make a positive contribution to the local community.  To this end we are proud to regularly support a range of charities through Red Nose Day, Children in Need, and Macmillan Coffee Morning.

Science weeks, arts week and book week are all annual events that help to focus children’s minds on specific areas of the curriculum and give them an opportunity to experience events and learning beyond the normal school week.

Children’s learning is enriched by a wide range of clubs provided by staff, parents and external providers and are aimed at proving opportunities for all children to boost self-esteem and to contribute to their all round development as individuals.

Pupils are given the opportunity to compete at many local sporting competitions and performances as well as taking part in community events.
